Halloween in Boise isn’t just one night of fun – it’s a season all its own. As the City of Trees bursts into brilliant fall colors, Harrison Boulevard transforms into a magical mile of pumpkins, cobwebs, and creative decorations, and neighborhoods welcome little ghouls and goblins for a fun-filled night of trick-or-treating. Residents savor the crisp autumn air, enjoying the season before November brings with it the possibility of snow. This year, Halloween promises to be extra special, filled with frights & festivities for all ages. One of our team’s favorite Halloween outings is the Boise Trolley Tours: Haunted Halloween Edition. These spine-chilling 90-minute rides take you to the city’s most haunted spots, guided by supernatural experts who uncover Boise’s darkest secrets.

Scarecrow Stroll at the Idaho Botanical Garden is a must-see this season. Wander among creative and quirky scarecrow displays, perfect for photos, inspiration, and family fun. The Garden also hosts a seasonal series of events, including the Harvest Fest, Spooky Garden, and Plant Sale - all on Oct 11.

Boo at the Zoo (Oct 25–26) turns Zoo Boise into a Halloween haven for families, with candy, costumes, and animal-themed spooks. And for adults who like a little fright with their fun, Zoo Boise’s Spooky Safari on October 30 offers an evening of chills and thrills—no kids allowed!

Get your heart racing at the YMCA Halloween Freaky 5K and Monster Mile on October 25 at 4:30 pm. Costumes encouraged, fun guaranteed, and maybe a few spooky surprises along the way. The Treasure Valley YMCA is also hosting a Halloween Carnival, Oct. 24th from 6-8 pm at the Downtown Y.

Calling all covens! Witches’ Night Out on October 8 from 6–9 pm is celebrating its 10th year with a spooky-chic fundraiser benefiting Faces of Hope. Sip, shop, and mingle with your fellow witches for a magical evening.  More at The Village: Villains at the Village brings your favorite mischief-makers to life in Meridian—expect tricks, treats, and villainous fun.

JUMP-or-Treat transforms JUMP Park into a Wacky World of Wonder on October 25 from 5–8 pm. Inflatables, treats, and Halloween magic make this event perfect for families and kids of all ages.

The Old Idaho Penitentiary is the place to be for those seeking a chilling experience. Their Locktober series includes: Behind the Scenes Tours, Paranormal Investigation, & Fright Nights  - A family-friendly evening with haunted house scares and spooky history presentations.

Downtown Eagle lights up the night with 1,000 dazzling pumpkin displays—perfect for a cozy autumn evening. Dress up and come down to Eagle City Hall for Trunk-or-Treating, kids' activities, photo opportunities, food vendors, and the return of the Chili Cook-Off.

The evening begins with a festive Trunk-or-Treat in the stadium parking lot, featuring booths and decorated vehicles from a variety of community organizations and local businesses. Inside the stadium, guests can enjoy a limited menu of concessions before settling in for a family-friendly fireworks show to close out the night.
