March Happenings in Boise and Beyond 

March in Boise brings a fresh wave of energy, with a calendar packed full of can’t-miss events for every interest. From live entertainment and local markets to sporting events and seasonal celebrations, the city comes alive as winter transitions into spring.

• The Lion King

Date:  March 1, 3-7

Giraffes strut. Birds swoop. Gazelles leap. The entire Serengeti comes to life as never before. And as the music soars, Pride Rock slowly emerges from the mist. This is Disney’s THE LION KING, making its triumphant return to the Morrison Center!

 

• HomeBoi: A celebration for those who love Boise

Dates: March 2-5

A celebration for those who love Boise, a convening of community builders and changemakers, dreamers and doers – the individuals and organizations working to build a better Boise.

 

• First Thursday in Downtown Boise

Date: March 5 | 5:00 - 9:00 PM

Our local merchants plan exciting, engaging in-store events including food and beverage tastings, local art exhibits, retail trunk shows, live music, family activities, and entertainment in a special and unique way you'll only find in Downtown Boise. Stop into your favorite establishment or check out someplace new!

 

• Living Legacies & Changemakers: Idaho Women Rewriting the Blueprint

Date: March 5 | 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

March is Women's History Month and we’re celebrating the remarkable contributions of Idaho women making waves across competitive fields. Hosted at Jack's Urban Meeting Place (JUMP) 

 

• Paint and Pinot (16+ only)
  

Dates: March 5  | 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Explore your inner artistic abilities with some wine at Zoo Boise for Paint and Pinot. Join artist-instructor Deanna Peacock for an evening of painting and sipping while surrounded by baboons, an otter, and the Nile crocodile! All supplies will be provided. 

 

• Snowfort

Date: March 6-7 

Shred all day and dance the night away with back to back days of wild winter shenanigans. Doesn’t matter if you’ve been skiing since you were seven, or you’re more of a “apres ski” athlete–Snowfort at Tamarack has something for everyone!

 

• Yoga for Good at Payette Brewing

Date: March 7 | 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM 

In the spirit of giving, unity and community, Yoga for Good raises funds, raises awareness and brings people together in support of a common cause.

 

• Mountainfilm on Tour

Dates: March 7  |  7:00 PM 

Mountainfilm on Tour is coming to town, bringing a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and inspiring documentary films curated from the Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride, Colorado.

 

• Starch Madness: 2026 Big Sky Basketball Championships

Dates: March 7-11 

The 2026 Big Sky Men's and Women's Basketball Championships, presented by Idaho Central Credit Union, will be held at Idaho Central Arena in downtown Boise from March 7-11. All 10 Big Sky schools will compete over five days for an automatic bid to the NCAA’s March Madness.

 

• Vendor Pop-Up Markets

Dates: March 7 & 21  | 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

At the Boise Farmers Market you will find fresh local seasonal vegetables and fruit, many types of locally raised protein, breads and pastries, honey, jams and sauces, fresh-roasted coffee, and a delicious selection of ready-to-eat foods. 

 

• Eat.Drink.Shop Indoor Farmers Market

Dates: March 7, 14, 21, & 28  | 10:30 PM - 2:00 PM

Eat.Drink.Shop Market provides a unique venue for local Treasure Valley artisans, purveyors, and foodies. Launched in 2021 by vendors, originally food-focused, EDS offers indoor market locations during winter and the market "off-season." 

 

• Sourdough Class

Dates: March 14  | 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Master the art of sourdough at this hands-on beginner to intermediate class on Saturday, March 14 at 9 a.m. at the Hidden Springs Clubhouse in Boise.

 

• Boise Philharmonic Presents Carmina Burana

Dates: March 14-15  | 7:30 PM & 2:00 PM

Experience music that captures the full range of human emotions and celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Boise Phil Master Chorale.

 

• Idaho Watercolor Society's 42nd Annual Capitol Rotunda Art Show

Dates: March 15-28  | 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

The Idaho Watercolor Society's 42nd Annual Capitol Rotunda Art Show, featuring stunning watercolor paintings by state artists, is a free public exhibition held in the historic Idaho State Capitol Rotunda.

 

• US Army Field Band – Jazz Ambassadors

Dates: March 16  | 7:30 PM -  9:00 PM

Known as America’s Big Band, the Jazz Ambassadors are the premier touring jazz orchestra of the United States Army.

 

• Spring break in ZooBoise

Dates: March 16 - 20 | Zookeeping 101 (ages 7 – 9) & Zoo Careers (ages 10 – 12) 

What is it like to work at a zoo? Learn exhibit design, plan diets, identify scat, “train animals”, make enrichment, and find out how zoos (and you) protect animals in the wild.

 

• St. Patrick's Day @ The Harp

Dates: March 17 | 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM

St. Patrick’s Day at The Harp in Boise promises a festive celebration with live music, Irish-inspired drinks, and a lively atmosphere. Guests can enjoy great food, dancing, and a fun-filled day honoring the luck of the Irish.

 

• Pet Portraits for a Cause

Dates: March 20 | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

For this one-night event, Lenses and Brushes is proud to partner with the Idaho Humane Society to help support animals in need.

 

• Boise Spring Home Show

Dates: March 20-22

Visit Idaho’s biggest home show! Featuring hundreds of vendors and over 200 displays, you will get inspiration around every corner.

 

• A Casino Royale Evening - Benefitting Camp River Run

Dates: March 21 | 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Join Camp River Run's "Share in the Dream" Gala 2026, a Casino Royale fundraising evening. Guests will enjoy casino games, chef-prepared food, silent auctions, and community support for children with medical challenges.

 

• Readings and Conversations: Robin Wall Kimmerer

• Treefort Music Fest

Dates: March 25–29 

Treefort Music Fest is a multi-day downtown festival featuring hundreds of bands, food, tech, and art.

 

• Food Fort: Street Eats

Dates: March 26 | 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM 

A market-style shindig inspired by the night markets of the world. Featuring local chefs making small bites to knock your socks off. Visit your favorites, and find something new! 

 

• Cars & Coffee at Indian Creek Plaza

Dates: March 28  |  9:00 AM - 12:00 PM 

The roar of the engines, the shine of polished chrome, and the excitement of car lovers from all over the Valley. Cars & Coffee returns to Indian Creek Plaza.
