Eagle's Finer Frames: Art, History, & Hometown Heart

Owner Meg Glasgow’s story begins far from Idaho, in Portugal, where she accompanied her husband during his military service overseas. What began as afternoons spent visiting a local frame shop quickly evolved into something more. Immersed in the artistry and tradition of European framing, Meg learned the craft firsthand while working locally, developing both an eye for design and a deep appreciation for preservation framing as an art form in itself.

In 1999, Meg brought that vision home and opened Finer Frames. Just two years later, the business earned a national award, quickly establishing itself as one of the region’s premier custom framing destinations. Over the years, Meg’s expertise expanded beyond the shop walls — teaching business and marketing nationwide while continuing to evolve her own company with creativity and intention.

After moving to care for her mother, Meg eventually found a new home for Finer Frames in downtown Eagle — a place whose character, appreciation for the arts, and small-town values aligned perfectly with her vision. In 2019, she purchased and thoughtfully renovated the building the business now calls home, contributing not only to the vitality of downtown, but to its identity.

Today, Finer Frames specializes in museum-quality preservation framing, art restoration, mirrors, shadowboxes, and custom designs for everything from fine art and photography to military memorabilia, heirlooms, textiles, and treasured keepsakes. The shop also features local artwork and handcrafted gifts, intentionally creating space for regional artists to be seen and celebrated.

Meg has long believed local businesses should actively participate in the communities they serve — not simply exist within them. Perhaps nowhere is that passion more visible than through the nationally recognized Eagle Plein Air Festival, which Meg founded and continues to organize. Each year, artists travel from around the country to paint Eagle’s landscapes, streets, and scenery, bringing national attention to the city while celebrating its beauty through art.

Meg credits the people of Eagle for sustaining & supporting Finer Frames. In return, she remains deeply committed to giving back to the community that embraced her business from the beginning. Today, Finer Frames continues as a family business, with Meg’s daughter now working alongside her.
