New & Exciting Developments in Boise & Beyond
One of the things we love most about living and working in the Treasure Valley is seeing how our communities continue to grow and evolve, not just in population, but in culture, experiences, and quality of life.
As real estate professionals, we’re always paying attention to more than just the housing market. New restaurants, hotels, infrastructure projects, parks, and lifestyle developments all play a role in shaping the future of a community and ultimately contribute to the long-term desirability of the places we call home.
This summer, there’s no shortage of exciting momentum across the Valley. Here are a few of the developments, openings, and projects we’re especially excited to watch unfold over the coming months.
New Hotel & Rooftop Dining Destination
Downtown Boise officially welcomed a major new addition this month with the opening of The Boise Post, a rooftop restaurant located atop the new AC Hotel Boise Downtown and Element by Marriott Downtown. The restaurant features sweeping foothill and city views, indoor-outdoor seating, and a globally inspired menu focused on locally sourced ingredients.
The Boise Post is part of Boise’s first dual-branded Marriott property, bringing nearly 300 new hotel rooms and suites to the downtown core. The AC Hotel brand focuses on modern, European-inspired hospitality, while Element caters to extended stays and wellness-centered travel. Together, the project represents another major investment in Boise’s growing hospitality and tourism market.
Downtown 8th Street Gets a Major Refresh
Another exciting downtown project is the continued transformation of Boise’s iconic 8th Street corridor. Often referred to as Boise’s “Restaurant Row,” the pedestrian-safe stretch between Main and Bannock Streets has become one of the city’s most vibrant gathering spaces over the past several years.
This summer, the City of Boise is investing $2.2 million into the next phase of improvements aimed at enhancing the area for pedestrians, outdoor dining, and public events. Planned upgrades include expanded gathering areas, landscaping, lighting, bike parking, and improved public spaces designed to make downtown even more walkable and connected.
As Boise continues to grow, projects like this show how city leaders are thinking intentionally about balancing growth with livability, something that remains one of the Treasure Valley’s biggest draws.
Lifestyle & Connection Along the Boise River
One of the biggest themes we continue to see across the Treasure Valley is investment along the Boise River corridor. Areas like Garden City are rapidly transforming into lifestyle destinations centered around recreation, dining, entertainment, and outdoor gathering spaces.
At the center of much of that momentum is The Boardwalk, the riverfront development in Garden City that has been one of the Valley’s most talked-about projects. This summer, Apex Brand Collection announced four new concepts coming to the development: Descanso on the Greenbelt, Spitfire Tacos + Tequila, Ground Rules, and Peregrine Overlook, a future rooftop bar overlooking the river corridor.
Another notable shift along the Greenbelt is the relocation of Green Acres Food Truck Park, which recently reopened for the season in a larger new location behind Payette Brewing. The move gives the popular community gathering spot additional space for food trucks, live music, and events while strengthening activity along the river corridor.
Boise’s Food Scene Continues to Expand
The Treasure Valley’s culinary scene continues evolving in exciting and creative ways, with a steady stream of new concepts opening across Boise, Eagle, and Garden City.
One anticipated addition is Cactus Southwest Kitchen & Bar, a longtime Seattle favorite that is expanding into Downtown Boise in the former PF Chang’s location. Known for its energetic atmosphere, margaritas, tacos, and large patios, the restaurant will bring another high-profile dining concept to the city center.
On the Boise Bench, beloved local staple Gaston’s Bakery is planning a major expansion next door to its existing location. Plans include additional pastry production space, offices, packaging facilities, and meeting areas as the bakery continues growing its footprint in one of Boise’s most established neighborhoods.
Meanwhile in Eagle, a new artisan bakery called Sourdough and Sage recently opened, focusing on gut-friendly, farm-to-table ingredients and handcrafted baked goods. The boutique bakery offers breads, pastries, breakfast items, and lunch offerings with an intentionally rustic, artisanal approach.
Taken together, these openings and projects reflect a broader trend: the Treasure Valley continues maturing into a destination with increasingly diverse dining, retail, hospitality, and entertainment offerings — while still maintaining the approachable, community-centered atmosphere people love about living here.
Whether you’re considering a move, investing in property, or simply love staying connected to what’s happening around town, our team is always here as a resource for both the market and the community we’re proud to call home.
Happy summer, Treasure Valley!
