At Lysi Bishop Real Estate, we are dedicated to providing “luxury at all price points” for our clients. We offer 5-star, concierge-style service regardless of your budget, and we believe that even small luxuries can enhance your home, your lifestyle, and your experiences even if they aren’t expensive. You don’t have to break the bank to experience luxury in your everyday life. Modest, yet meaningful, indulgences often appeal to the senses—smell, touch, and sound—and evoke feelings of comfort, connection, and care. In today’s world of hectic schedules and long work hours, even free time can feel indulgent. Time in nature, time alone, time spent with friends enjoying food and drink—slowing down for an afternoon can be a rare and delicious treat. On this week’s blog, we share some of our favorite small luxuries and even tell you where to buy some of them locally—Valentine's Day gift ideas, perhaps?

Flowers. Nothing brings life & luxury to a space quite like fresh flowers. Whether it’s the smell, the pop of color, or the artistry involved in a handmade arrangement, a bouquet of any size immediately elevates your space. We love local shops Boise At Its Best, Carpenters, and Wildflower Floral Co. for flower design & delivery. Or you can purchase a 2025 Flower subscription through Mason Creek Flower Farm in Nampa for monthly fresh flower delivery!

In-Home Towel Warmer. Could there be anything more relaxing and luxurious than a warm towel ready and waiting as you step out of the shower? For less than $100, you can purchase an electric spa-style towel warmer for your bathroom and indulge in this rich-feeling experience from the comfort of home. Add a personal facial steamer (like this one) and an at-home manicure system (seen here) for the ultimate spa day.

Skin Care. A visit to the Boise-based skincare company SkinOwl, is a luxurious experience on its own. They offer complimentary pampering appointments and “serenity steams” while you test, try, and shop their decadent, all-natural products. The smell of their lavender drops is divine, and the feel of their Maqui Berry Whip is luscious. SkinOwl gifts you the true token of “you time” alongside a commitment to caring for your body and mind when you need it most.

Luxe Stationery. A handwritten note is both a heartfelt and sophisticated gesture, and writing on a piece of fine, luxe stationery is one of life’s little pleasures. If you haven’t visited Mixed Greens in downtown Boise, stop in to browse their stationery collections and other delightful home accents. Looking for something more custom? We love Paperie + Pen, a local paper company that creates custom invitations, cards, and more.

Greenery. Bring life, luxury, and color to your home by investing in a few unique plants to place on the windowsill. Tending to houseplants is a quiet and calming task, and enjoying the greenery inside your home can lift your spirits and lighten your mood. A Succulent Day, just west of downtown on State Street, is one of our most-loved local shops for picking up a plant that will breathe new life into your home.

Chocolates. Rich & divinely delicious, just one bite of fine chocolate can be the ultimate luxury experience. Boise’s very own Chocolat Bar has been sourcing premium ingredients, producing amazing flavor combinations, and serving incredible artisan chocolates for over 20 years! The ganaches found in their truffles are rich, complex, and melt-worthy, and their caramels are buttery and decadent in the best kind of way.

Self-Care. A day at the salon for some pampering is another delightful indulgence we highly recommend. One of our favorite salons in Boise is Graeber & Company, located in a light-filled space downtown. A fresh cut and color is an immediate confidence booster, and their facial packages will leave you glowing. If you don’t have the time or budget for a full spa experience, book an appointment for a blowout at Dry Bar, located downtown and in Eagle, or try Sugar & Blow or Blo Blow Dry Bar, both local to Meridian.

Fresh Air. One of life’s greatest pleasures is time spent outside, and living in Boise means we have some of the most spectacular outdoor experiences right in our backyard. Spend a day downhill or Nordic skiing at Bogus Basin, or hop into Frontier Point Lodge to check out the free snowshoe tours offered on the mountain. Stop by locally-owned Bluffside Provisions on the way home from your outdoor adventures for hot sandwiches featuring house-smoked meats or a curated cut to throw on the grill.

Local Wine. Sipping a glass of local wine from a tall-stemmed glass is a small treat that can feel splendid & luxurious, especially when enjoying a bottle with friends or loved ones. Hyde Park Fine Wines is our favorite local shop; the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and can help you find the perfect blend for your budget or tastebuds. And we can’t mention local wine without bringing up the burgeoning wine scene in Garden City—stop at Telaya for a glass by the fire!

Lovely Scents. A specific scent can evoke strong emotions or help us recall a powerful memory—it is so closely tied to our experiences and enjoyment. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to fill your home with a signature scent. Lit & Co in Hyde Park is a creative space where you can make your own custom fragrances and candles. Another option is the Pura air freshener, a scented oil diffuser. There are endless options for home scents, and you can use an app to schedule when the diffuser will turn on & off.

Handmade Slippers & Silk Pajamas. There is something so luxurious about well-made items that appeal to our sense of touch. Cashmere sweaters, fur blankets, hotel-quality bedding… all of these items can feel incredibly indulgent. We are loving these handmade, sheepskin slippers and this company’s lovely silk pajama sets and bathrobes. Both items feel lavish and expensive, and paired together, they make a wonderfully generous gift.

Food & Drink. We believe a delicious meal shared with loved ones and friends is one of life’s richest experiences. Slowing down and spending time on connection, delighting in the ambiance of a carefully curated space, and entertaining our tastebuds with new and exciting flavors are all part of the sumptuous epicurean experience. Boise is host to an impressive list of fine-dining establishments (see a few of our recommendations here) and there are even more on the way (read our blog about new restaurants coming in 2025)!
