There are endless reasons to love life in Boise, and as real estate agents, we are passionate about showing our clients some of the best neighborhoods and experiences offered throughout the area. One of the lifestyle features we have really enjoyed sharing with friends and clients is the burgeoning Boise food scene. 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for foodies! Whether you prefer a casual eatery, an upscale steakhouse, a fast-serve taco shop, or elevated cocktails paired with Italian classics, this year is bringing more delicious dining options to the Treasure Valley.

  1. Hemlock. After 8 years of serving downtown Boise, Richard’s Restaurant & Bar officially closed its doors at the end of 2024. Hemlock, a boutique, upscale steakhouse, is set to open in the space this spring. Created by the owners of Eagle’s popular Spitfire Tacos & Tequila, Scott Slater and Todd Ketlinski, this new spot promises to be a highlight of downtown dining. With tableside baked potato service, elevated cocktails, and grand piano playing Top 40 hits and old-school hip-hop classics, this new concept is “pushing the limits of what a steakhouse can be.” The high-end space, fine-dining menu, and cool, updated vibe are sure to elevate the Boise food scene.

  2. Soft Landing. If you’ve driven down State Street over the past few years or stopped into DK Donuts for a morning treat, you’ve probably noticed the former auto body shop on 13th that has been sitting vacant for a while. Most recently, the space was used as a floral shop, but it has undergone a transformation, and a new concept will open this spring! Soft Landing is a soft-serve shop featuring high-quality, organic ingredients, making it more than just another ice cream store. An easy bike ride from the North End, a quick trip from downtown, and a few blocks from Boise High School, this spot will most certainly be a favorite new addition to the area!

  3. Corso Italian Steak. An older building on South Broadway has been demolished, and an unforgettable, luxurious steakhouse is planned to open this spring. Corso Italian Steak will feature high-end cocktails and a carefully curated menu in an upscale yet casual setting. There are even rumors of an additional speakeasy opening in the space, accessed from the back alley... but we can neither confirm nor deny this detail.

  4. House of the Little Pig. Accessible from the Greenbelt along Barber Valley Drive, the owners of The Lively are opening an exciting new restaurant this summer. An elevated farm-to-table concept with top-notch service, ingredients, and dish preparation, the space will be centered around a Josper charcoal grill from the Basque region of Spain. The menu will include larger, shareable items based on the desire for people to come in and break bread together—an idea that we love and look forward to!

  5. Rosa. Wylder Hospitality Group, the local team behind hit restaurants including The Wylder, Certified Bakery, and Percy, plans to open Rosa by spring of 2025. A fun and casual, fast-service taco spot will fill the space located behind Push & Pour just off the Greenbelt in Garden City. The focus is on really great, scratch-made tortillas and perfectly braised, delicious meats. Classic street tacos, inexpensive beer, and frozen margaritas served in a casual setting with large garage doors that will be pulled up on warm-weather days... we are counting down the days until Rosa opens. Happy Hour, anyone?

  6. Bardenay. If you haven’t been to Bardenay in downtown Boise or along the Greenbelt in Eagle yet, you are missing out on a true Treasure Valley staple. The original distillery pub—the first of its kind in the nation—opened on the Basque Block in an old warehouse space in 1999 and expanded to both Eagle and Coeur d’Alene. You’ll have another opportunity to visit this fantastic favorite once their new building in Garden City opens this year. Nearing completion by The Riverside Hotel and Telaya Winery, the 3,300-square-foot distillery will feature a restaurant and patio space. We love the friendly atmosphere, thoughtful menu, and varied drink options offered at Bardenay and can’t wait for the new one to open its doors.

Other exciting new developments in our growing food scene include:

  1. Dusty Miller Pasteries & Flours. A local Boise woman returns to the valley to open a new bakery on the Bench.

  2. Belmont Brewhouse. Opening in former TGI Fridays space, with 43 taps, pizza, and smoked meats.

  3. Oldspeak. A book beer bar is coming to Garden City in early 2025.

  4. Big Bun. The classic Boise Bench drive-in is opening its second location on Glenwood.

  5. North Italia. A popular, nationally known concept is opening its first Idaho location at The Village this year.

  6. Bad Boy Burgers. This will be the owner’s third location. Coming to Meridian soon.

  7. First Watch. Two new locations in Meridian are being opened by this national chain. Serving breakfast and brunch, including “million dollar bacon."

  8. Woodhouse Crafted Kitchen. Coming to a former event center in Eagle, this concept will likely open fall of 2025. A second dinner-house option will share the space and open at a later date.

  9. Pig Latin. This fantastic spot with Latin flair actually opened at the very end of 2024. It includes a prime patio on the Eagle Greenbelt and is worth a visit asap!

  10. Amano`. The nationally acclaimed Mexican restaurant in Caldwell is moving to its own building this year. This new space will provide more dining room seating, a patio, and outdoor cooking pits.

  11. And of course... In-N-Out. This famous, California-based fast-serve burger joint made its grand opening in Meridian at the end of 2023 and recently opened its second location on Milwaukee Street.
