New & Noteworthy: Boise Restaurants and Openings to Watch This Fall
Boise’s dining scene has welcomed an unusually varied collection of newcomers in 2026, from rooftop dining and classic steakhouses to neighborhood cafes, global cuisine, and, naturally, a restaurant devoted to Idaho’s favorite crop… have you been to Spud Daddy? Add it to your list!
Fall is bringing another wave of delicious openings. New restaurants, bakeries, bars, and gathering places are opening across Boise, Garden City, and Meridian, while several larger developments are setting the stage for even more to come.
Here’s what’s caught our attention (and our appetites):
New & Worth Trying Now
The Boise Post
Perched on the 16th floor of the new AC Hotel/Element development downtown, the restaurant pairs panoramic views of the city and Boise Foothills with an elevated menu of small and large plates, craft cocktails, two open-air patios, and fire features.
Coa Cantina
Barber Valley has a lively new neighborhood hangout in Coa Cantina. The approachable menu covers tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and shareable dips, while tequila, mezcal, and margaritas give the restaurant an easygoing, stay-for-another-round personality.
El Gaucho
The arrival of El Gaucho added a decidedly fabulous option to downtown Boise dining. Set within a beautifully restored historic building, the classic steakhouse experience includes charcoal-grilled steaks, seafood, tableside preparations, & an impressive bar.
Spud Daddy
Few concepts could feel more Idaho than a restaurant centered around an oversized baked potato. Spud Daddy embraces our state’s signature crop with customizable loaded potatoes and plenty of toppings.
Sidequest
Wylder Hospitality Group's Sidequest has brought a relaxed, food-focused neighborhood restaurant to the Boise Bench. House-made sourdough focaccia sandwiches anchor lunch, and evenings offer house-made pastas, seasonal dishes, wine, beer, and cocktails.
More on the Horizon
Stockyard Social
Stockyard Social is taking over the former Clubhound property along the Greenbelt in Garden City and transforming the 2.5-acre site into an all-day community campus. Plans include a dog social club, coffee counter, neighborhood bar, coworking spaces, patios, markets, food trucks, & events.
The Dusty Miller
The Dusty Miller is preparing to open at the 36th Street Event Center this fall with scratch-made pastries ranging from canelé and croissants to seasonal tarts. The bakery will also serve espresso, coffee, rotating seasonal beverages, and a brunch menu. Custom cakes and event catering will round out the offerings.
Tante Emma
Garden Valley favorite Tante Emma is expanding to Boise, bringing German comfort food to the Hawkins Headquarters building downtown. Schnitzel, spätzle, pretzels, bratwurst, and seasonal specialties are expected, with a late-November opening targeted.
June's
June's is taking shape inside the historic Empire Theatre building with an aesthetic its owner describes as “Old Hollywood meets your swanky New York grandmother's living room.” The neighborhood bar will feature vintage-inspired interiors, classic cocktails, and nostalgic details designed to make the space feel collected and comfortable. The bar is currently expected to open in early 2027.
Function Brewery
One of Garden City's more unusual future projects comes from Portland-born Function Brewery, which plans to bring a rotating brewery residency concept to a new building near the Greenbelt. The concept will invite breweries from around the country to take over the taproom for limited residencies, creating an ever-changing experience. A full kitchen and a rooftop deck are also planned. This one is farther out, with an opening targeted for 2027.
Loteria Restaurant
The group behind Meridian's Tacos Loteria is expanding into Boise with Loteria Restaurant. The menu includes tacos, burritos, tortas, handmade tortillas, and pozole. The Boise location is expected to take the concept in a slightly different direction, with stews, seafood, and a weekend buffet. An opening date has not yet been announced.
Big Changes at The Village
One of the biggest food stories this fall isn't a single restaurant at all. The Village at Meridian is preparing to debut its approximately 100,000-square-foot expansion, bringing a substantial collection of new shops and restaurants to the center.
The first wave is scheduled to open October 9, with an opening-weekend celebration continuing through October 11. Alo, Tecovas, Kendra Scott, Gorjana, Tempur-Pedic, and Paris Baguette are expected among the first arrivals, with Flower Child, SolidCore, Vuori, and 7th Avenue following shortly afterward.
Wine lovers have another reason to watch The Village. Arizona-founded Postino is planning its first Idaho location with a 5,228-square-foot restaurant and nearly 1,300-square-foot patio. Wine sits at the heart of the concept, complemented by bruschetta, charcuterie and other boards, paninis, soups, salads, desserts, and brunch. Postino even operates its own monthly bottle club. We might have already signed up for this one.
And that's hardly the end of The Village's food lineup. The Capital Grille will bring dry-aged steaks, seafood, wine, and polished special-occasion dining to its first Idaho location, while Culinary Dropout will add a more casual gastropub-style option. Salt & Straw is also headed to the former Bodovino space near the fountain.
Looking a little farther ahead, Arizona brunch concept Over Easy is planning a Village location for the first quarter of 2027. Known for made-from-scratch breakfast and brunch, the concept has previously appeared on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Chicken, Brunch & Cronuts at Ten Mile
The District at Ten Mile in Meridian has landed three concepts making their Idaho debuts, bringing a deliciously eclectic offering of fried chicken, brunch, and doughnuts to the growing development.
Denver-born Birdcall specializes in chicken sandwiches, tenders, nuggets, wraps, and shakes, with the Ten Mile restaurant expected to be the first of several planned Treasure Valley locations.
Parlor Doughnuts is known for its signature layered doughnuts, which have a laminated, croissant-like texture, alongside savory varieties and breakfast dishes.
And Over Easy brings a full-fledged brunch menu with banana-nut French toast, chicken and waffles, omelets, steak and eggs, burgers, mimosas, and more. The brand is also planning the separate Village location mentioned above.
