Celebrating 250 Years of America, 25 Years of Open Space, and the Best of Idaho Summer!

In 2026, communities across the country are commemorating America's 250th birthday, marking two and a half centuries since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Idaho has embraced the occasion through the statewide America250 initiative, which encourages communities to reflect on our shared history while celebrating the people, places, and values that continue to shape our future.

Boise is also celebrating an important milestone of its own this year: 25 years of investing in and protecting open space. For a quarter century, local conservation efforts have helped preserve the foothills, trails, rivers, wildlife habitat, and public lands that define our lifestyle and contribute so much to the quality of life we enjoy today.
