Harvest Festivals and Family Farm Adventures

Fall in Idaho is absolutely magical, as the City of Trees turns from green to golden and the air turns crisp for morning hikes and sunset bike rides. There is no better time to get out and enjoy the foothill trails or greenbelt paths, and we love that so many Boise neighborhoods celebrate the change of seasons by breaking out the Halloween decor!

One of our favorite fall activities in Boise is grabbing a coffee or hot chocolate from a Hyde Park café and strolling down Harrison Boulevard, enjoying the crunch of leaves and previewing the creative & extravagant holiday decorations.

If you’re looking for other family-friendly fall activities, consider getting out of the city limits to embrace the Treasure Valley’s agricultural roots. From pumpkin patches to corn mazes, hayrides, and seasonal treats - here’s a roundup of some of our favorite fall experiences that are sure to put you in the seasonal spirit.

Autumn Festival at Edwards Greenhouse

Known for its enchanting greenhouse displays year-round, Edwards transforms into a fall fairytale with pumpkins, plants, music, and family-friendly activities that celebrate the harvest season.

Idaho Botanical Garden – Fall Harvest Days

Every Saturday in October, the Idaho Botanical Garden becomes an autumn wonderland. Stroll through vibrant foliage, enjoy seasonal crafts and games, and soak up the magical atmosphere.

Lowe Family Farmstead

A Treasure Valley classic! The Lowe Family Farmstead has something for everyone: a sprawling corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayrides, farm-fresh treats, and a warm community vibe. Grab a cup of hot cider and a bag of kettle corn while the kids race through the haybale maze.

Flaming Acres Farm

For families who love pumpkin picking, Flaming Acres is the spot. Wander the fields to choose your perfect pumpkin, then enjoy harvest-themed activities at your own pace. It’s less about rides and thrills here, and more about making memories in a true farm setting.

Lovely Hollow Farm

This charming flower farm is ideal if you’re looking for something cozy and intimate. Lovely Hollow offers u-pick pumpkins, sweet seasonal activities, and a laid-back atmosphere. It’s a festive way to celebrate autumn without the big crowds.

Shindig Farms

If you want all the fall fun in one place, head to Shindig Farms in Nampa. With a towering 8-foot straw maze, pumpkin patch featuring 20+ varieties, giant slide, zip line, corn cannons, duck races, and even a mechanical bull—it’s part festival, part playground.

The Berry Ranch

For a more down-to-earth, hands-on farm day, The Berry Ranch is a wonderful family-run option. Visitors can pick pumpkins, berries, squash, and other seasonal veggies, then hop on a hayride to the pumpkin patch
