Boise's Best Spring Events

While some of us are trying to fit in a few last turns on the slopes after the latest spring snowfall, many Boise residents are excitedly anticipating warmer weather. Tulips are starting to pop up around town, and some of our many trees are showing little green signs of life after a winter hibernation. As we look ahead at the seasons changing, we want to highlight a few of our favorite spring events in Boise and the Treasure Valley. From outdoor music to popular farmer’s markets and the race at Robie Creek, there are some exciting opportunities for getting out and about and enjoying neighbors, community, and warmer temps! 

 

Downtown Boise Retail Week

(March 26th-30th)

This spring, show some love to Boise's 96% locally owned downtown! Businesses throughout Downtown Boise, which holds the largest concentration of independent businesses in the state of Idaho, will host specials, promotions, and pop-ups, new merch, and more.

 

Boise Flower and Garden Show

(March 28th–30th)

The Boise Flower and Garden Show is an annual event for garden lovers, offering inspiring floral displays, expert-led workshops, and an extensive selection of plants, garden tools, and decor. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just getting started, this event provides invaluable insight, hands-on learning, and access to industry professionals who can help you create the garden of your dreams.

 

Treefort Music Festival

(March 26th-30th)

Treefort Music Fest is a five-day music festival held annually in multiple locations throughout downtown Boise. The lineup features both international and local artists with an indie-rock influence. The festival is an immersive experience that goes above and beyond live music, featuring “forts” for comedy, tech, food, yoga, poetry, and more, creating a unique, family-friendly cultural experience. Known for its community-centered vibe, the festival highlights Boise’s vibrant spirit and friendly atmosphere. 

 

Idaho Artistry in Wood Show

(March 29th & 30th)

For over 15 years, this event has brought together hundreds of wood artists and attracted thousands of guests from all over the Northwest. The show is known as a premier celebration of the finest woodworking craftsmanship in the region, featuring a judged competition, special displays, live demonstrations, exclusive sales of wooden artistic creations, unique vendors, and exciting raffles and banquets with live auctions. 

 

Boise Farmers Market

(Saturdays, April 5th–October 25th)

This popular Boise event takes place every Saturday from spring until fall, always featuring the best of what is local and in season. Find fresh seasonal vegetables and fruit, locally raised protein, delectable breads & pastries, honey, jams, coffee, and a delicious selection of ready-to-eat foods. With over 100 vendors throughout the season, visitors can support local farmers, enjoy seasonal flavors, and connect with the community. 

 

Log & Timber Home Design Expo

(April 4th–6th)

Find inspiration for building your dream mountain cabin! Attendees have the opportunity to meet log and timber frame builders and suppliers, explore materials for custom homes, and gain insights into floor plans, budgeting, financing, and the distinctions between log and timber frame homes. Participate in free seminars covering topics such as design trends, construction techniques, maintenance tips, and sustainability. 

 

Broadway in Boise Presents: Wicked

(April 2nd–15th) 

The internationally acclaimed musical Wicked comes to downtown Boise’s Ann Morrison Center this spring! This sensational story looks at what happened in the Land of Oz long before Dorothy arrives. From the first electrifying note to the final breathtaking moment, Wicked transfixes audiences with its wildly inventive story. Get dressed, make a night of it, and enjoy fine dining at one of Boise’s newest restaurants first!

 

Race to Robie Creek

(April 19th)

The Race to Robie Creek is a locally famous, grueling half marathon that tests endurance with a 2100-foot climb over 8.5 miles to Aldape Summit. Known as the “Toughest Half Marathon in the Northwest,” the race takes participants through rugged terrain, highlighting scenic vistas, and culminating with an intense descent into Robie Creek. The festive post-race party features music, food, and camaraderie, and is open to participants and guests. With a history dating back to 1975, this event has donated over $1,200,000 to charitable causes, making it a unique and philanthropic experience for participants, combining the thrill of a race with the reward of giving back to the community.
